Thanks to Andy and the team, we are now the very proud owners of a fabulous new roof. Angie and Andy overcame 11th hour supplier challenges cheerfully and competently, their main aim was to ensure that we would be happy with the end result, and we most certainly are happy.
We stayed in the house while the work was undertaken, and were very impressed with the professionalism of Andy and the lads, they worked tirelessly, and cheerfully and were a pleasure to have around. They turned our front garden into a building site upon arrival, and cleaned up perfectly before leaving.
Andy was highly recommended to us by two separate friends that had worked with him on other jobs, and we also, are very happy to recommend him and his work and wouldn’t hesitate to contact him again to do other work for us.

So our journey started in late 2018 when we finally bought our french farmhouse and moved here permanently. We were recommended to use Andy Quick by various sources and so called him to give us a quote and liked the fact that there were no hidden surprises.
From that moment on we knew we were in safe hands. Andy and Angie talked us through each step of the process (and it was a big one - 3 large roofs on 3 buildings with veluxes galore!) and the challenges that would be faced along the way (how to access the barn roofs at the back of the property, how to squeeze down our narrow Chemin with huge glue beams, tons of volige, tiles, sand etc..). Andy gave us daily updates on site of what to expect and we were regularly asked for our input on decisions that came up as not every eventuality can be planned for. The speed with which the roofs came off was amazing but even more incredible was how quickly the new roofs went on!
The team were tireless and relentless as they constantly fought weather deadlines at each stage (we were living in the house so naturally wanted to stay watertight) and gave of themselves fully (even George giving up his beautiful stone for a new wall which now looks like it has been there for a hundred years). The guys were very professional and kept their sense of humor throughout despite several challenging days and deadlines that were needed for each stage to complete.
We now have 3 beautiful roofs and have loved Andy’s workmanship and attention to detail so much that he is now replacing our windows.
We would not hesitate to recommend them as they are competitive, professional and punctual (as well as understanding- we had to work around our son and new puppy as well).

We broke our usual habit and employed an English professional, after being ripped off by a French one.
The work involved the repair and complete retiling of our longère’s roof, including its garage – a total of 250 square metres.
Every aspect of the process has been superb and we would warmly recommend Andy and his team to anyone.
The speed and clarity with which Andy and Angie responded to our initial enquiry characterised communication throughout: we always knew what they were doing, why, and what progress they were making. Their initial estimate on timing was that we would have to wait several months before they could begin – reassuring that their work is in demand, but frustrating for us, as our roof was in a bad state. In fact, a cancellation by a potential customer enabled them to start the work within weeks and, thanks to a massive effort by the team, the roof was completed in time for Christmas.
I would want to make special mention of Andy’s workmen. It was a genuine delight to have them on the property. They worked hard and expertly and with a wonderful sense of good humour, between themselves and with me. They always listened to my sometimes daft questions and gave clear replies; nothing was too much trouble for them. I always knew who was going to be here the next day and at what time and they adhered rigidly to the schedule, working on the roof in sometimes dreadful conditions. When sections of the roof had to be left temporarily untiled, they took meticulous care to protect it by waterproof sheeting, weighting this down against the wind and themselves coming inside to check on and stop the inevitable little leaks.
For the first time since arriving here, I feel confident that my roof will not leak. Andy is a perfectionist and clearly puts the customer first and I know that, if there is the slightest problem, which I don’t expect, he will be by our side immediately. He has an excellent team of careful, expert workers and there is evident mutual respect and liking between them and an overriding care for the customer.
Andy will be the first person I will now contact, when I need more building work done, as I inevitably will. It is a pleasure to volunteer this testimony to the quality of his work and I would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might wish to have.
Nous avons changé exceptionnellement nos habitudes et avons fait appel à un artisan anglais, après avoir été escroqués par un artisan français.
Le travail consistait au remplacement de la couverture de notre maison – type longère – et garage, soit un total de 250m carrés.
Chaque étape du processus de remplacement s’est déroulé sans encombre et je ne saurais trop recommander Andy et son équipe.
La rapidité et la transparence avec laquelle ont répondu Andy et Angie à notre demande de devis s’est retrouvée tout au long du chantier. Nous savions toujours ce qu’ils faisaient, pourquoi et l’état d’avancement du chantier.
Leur délai d’intervention était initialement de plusieurs mois ; cela nous a rassurés d’un côté de constater qu’ils étaient demandés, mais frustr és d’un autre, car notre couverture avait été laissée dans un très mauvais état par le couvreur français.
En fait un de leurs clients a désisté au dernier moment et ils ont pu intervenir chez nous que quelques semaines après le devis. Grâce à l’implication et aux efforts fournis par toute l’équipe, notre toit a été remplacé avant Noël, comme l’avait promis Andy.Je voudrais donner une mention spéciale aux collaborateurs d’Andy : c’était un vrai plaisir que de les recevoir chez nous.
Ils ont travaillé dur, savaient ce qu’ils faisaient et avaient de surcroît beaucoup d’humour entre eux, mais aussi dans nos échanges. Ils ont toujours été très attentifs à mes questions, même parfois stupides, et y ont toujours apporté une réponse claire et précise. Je savais toujours ce qui était prévu pour le lendemain et combien de personnes seraient présentes et le planning a été respecté scrupuleusement, bien qu’ils aient eu à travailler dans des conditions climatiques affreuses.
Quand des portions de la toiture ont dû rester temporairement sans couverture, ils ont toujours pris un soin particulier pour bien les protéger avec des bâches, afin que le toit reste étanche, malgré le vent et la pluie.
Pour la première fois depuis que nous avons emménagé dans notre maison, nous nous sentons en sécurité par rapport aux fuites.
Andy est perfectionniste et a bien le sens du service client et nous savons que, s’il y a le moindre problème, nous pouvons compter sur une réponse rapide de sa part. Il a une équipe superbe, où chacun se respecte et s’apprécie avec, pour chacun, un sens aigu du service client.
Andy sera désormais mon premier interlocuteur lorsque j’aurai des travaux à faire. C’est un vrai plaisir que de témoigner de la qualité du travail qu’il a fait chez nous et je reste à la disposition de toute personne qui souhaiterait de me poser des questions. -
We purchased our house in south west France and soon discovered like most that this house needed quite a lot of renovation. Andy Quick was recommended to us by some friends who had used him before.
We have found Andy and his team to have been excellent trades men, who have transformed our house from a run-down, tired old place to its former glory and what’s more they have managed to retain the property’s character as well. I have found Andy and Angela to have been particularly communicative and happy to help when we have needed to order particular products from French out lets.
For me Andy’s attention to detail has been excellent as well as his forward thinking. On many occasion Andy has made recommendations in connection with a particular job which has saved us a lot of money and upheaval in the long run.
I would not hesitate to recommend Andy and the team if you have need of a English speaking builder with a flair for all things French!
Our project is ongoing and no doubt we will be enlisting Andy for future projects going forward.
